Trial evidence
A useful trial records the exact pack, label and machine conditions so the result can support specification and acceptance decisions.
A useful report identifies the container and fill condition, both label rolls, machine configuration, sensors, guide settings, trial speed, product spacing and the checks performed. It should record placement, finish, missed labels, faults, starts and stops, and any assumptions or unresolved risks.
Photographs and short video are helpful only when tied to the tested conditions and measured result.
Yes. A prototype may use different face material, adhesive, liner, die-cut, varnish or roll winding from production stock. It can still reveal basic handling issues, but it may not prove sensor reliability, release behaviour or final visual finish.
Record the differences and repeat the affected checks with production-equivalent labels before acceptance.
Reserve enough containers to establish the setup, make controlled adjustments, run a representative sequence, measure a stated sample and repeat critical starts, stops or changeovers. The required quantity depends on pack difficulty, format range and whether inspection or destructive checks are included.

Repeat testing when the production bottle, label construction, artwork position, closure, fill condition, target output or machine configuration changes in a way that could affect handling or application. A second trial is also justified when the first used provisional materials or left an acceptance risk unresolved.
Do not treat a successful trial on one SKU as automatic evidence for every future format.
Representative trial condition
A successful dry sample does not prove a production process if the real pack arrives filled, capped, warm, damp or recently rinsed. The trial plan should state the condition of the container and reproduce the variables that can change handling or label adhesion.

Where the production product cannot be used safely off site, agree a substitute that reproduces the relevant weight and handling behaviour. Record what the substitute proves and any product-specific surface or temperature condition that remains to be verified.
Keep sample references, label-roll references, machine settings, pack condition, measured datums and any exclusions with the trial record. A result without its conditions cannot be applied reliably to a later production format.
