Trials are useful when the container shape is unusual, the label is clear or reflective, the label panel is curved, or the finished appearance has tight tolerances.

Testing helps reduce the risk of choosing a machine route that does not suit the pack.

What to supply for trials

Useful trial materials include actual containers, representative labels and notes on target output and finished label position. If the final label stock is not ready, provide the closest available sample and make any differences clear.

• Sample containers in production condition.
• Front and rear label samples or rolls.
• Label drawings and desired position.
• Target speed and tolerance expectations.

What trials can show

Trials can reveal sensor issues, label feed issues, container instability or wipe-down limitations. They can also confirm whether compact, automatic, top/bottom or another route is more suitable.

Trial results should be used to refine the brief and reduce uncertainty before quotation.
