Plastic bottles are common in cosmetics, household, chemical and personal-care production, where front branding and rear product information must be applied consistently.
Plastic bottles can be light, flexible and shape-variable. They may have tapered panels, curved shoulders or squeezed sides, all of which influence how the machine guides and wipes the label onto the pack.
A stable bottle with clear flat panels is usually simpler to label than a flexible or heavily contoured bottle.
For plastic bottles, front and rear labels often need to align with bottle panels, seams or shoulders. The machine should hold the container in a repeatable position and control label feed so both labels land consistently.
Where labels are large or close to edges, small container variations can become visible on the finished pack.
A compact twin side labeller can suit start-up production, smaller batches and lower output. Automatic twin-side systems are more suitable where bottles need to run inline with filling, capping, coding and conveyors.

Pack qualification
The resin name alone does not confirm labelling performance. The finished moulding, wall stiffness, fill condition, additives, surface treatment, contamination, temperature and panel geometry can all change how a pressure-sensitive label is applied and retained.
Measure how the front and back panels move under side-belt and wipe-down pressure when the bottle is empty and when it carries the normal fill. Flexible walls can distort the label or alter placement.
Record seams, ribs, embossing, recessed panels, taper and corner radii. The approved label area should avoid features that interrupt contact or cause the label to bridge.
Use production-equivalent bottles and inspect for mould-release residue, oil, dust, moisture, condensation and product splash. A visually clean pack can still differ from the approved trial condition.
Film labels, lightweight liners and dry production environments can create handling effects. Trial the actual label construction and observe web tracking, peel behaviour and label attraction.
A pump, trigger or tall cap can affect top hold-down access and pack stability. Filled weight and an offset centre of gravity can also change transfer between guides.
Inspect the pack immediately after application and again after the label supplier’s recommended dwell period and storage condition. Separate initial tack from longer-term bond performance.
